About Me

Vanessa Macias displayed her natural, stinging wit and verve as she traveled the world as a contestant on The Amazing Race on CBS.

She has never taken the beaten path anywhere… and she frequently gets lost, but that just adds to the adventure. Vanessa began modeling and doing commercial work since her early teens. Lucky for her, professional training and extensive experience (along with her “out-there” sense of humor), keep the casting directors calling.

There isn’t much she hasn’t done since she found the camera. From sports coverage, to political work she has covered it.

Two weeks after high school graduation Vanessa enrolled in the Radio, TV & Film school at San Antonio College, where she landed an internship as an on-air reporter for The News 4 San Antonio High School Sports Show with Don Harris. It was Harris who influenced Vanessa to continue her studies at The University of North Texas.

Upon graduation from UNT, Vanessa landed another reporting job, this time with the travel show, Show Me Texas. From there Vanessa moved to feature reporting for the San Antonio CBS morning show Great Day S.A., where she earned the moniker, “Daring Vanessa.”

Since then, “Daring Vanessa” has accepted other roles that include: spokes-model, communications specialist for State Senators, national TV show personality, sideline reporter, in-arena announcer and radio morning show host.

Vanessa teamed up with her old buddy, executive producer Luis Muñoz and the crew from Bauhaus Media Group to take on the world! Well, at least to take on beautiful beaches around the world in the TV program VAMOS! Travel Show.

You can catch Vanessa all around San Antonio as the in-house announcer at San Antonio Missions Baseball and San Antonio Scorpions Soccer games. She also serves as a spokesperson for a variety of companies including NSIDE Magazine, for which she hosts NSIDE Scoop, on KLUP radio.

Showing her versatility, Vanessa tackles a wide range of topics every morning as she co-hosts Talk Now SA with long-time friend and colleague Chris Duel.
